SAFETY

Yukon comes loaded with driver assistance features. These are not meant to replace the driver, but to help keep you and your family safe at all times:

• Automatic Emergency Braking-Automatically applies the brakes to avoid a collision
• Following Distance Indicator-Allows you to monitor the distance between you and the cars around you.
• Forward Collision Alert-Working with the automatic braking system, this feature sounds a loud warning of an impending front collision.

Rear vision camera-When in reverse at low speeds the standard rear vision camera shows you an image of the area directly behind your vehicle on the infotainment display.

Teen driver-The teen driver system helps encourage safe driving habits for your teenagers. It defaults active safety features your Yukon is equipped with when a Teen Driver designated key fob is used and mutes the radio if detected front seat occupants are not wearing their seat belts. If also allows parents to set some configurable settings such as a speed warning. Teen Driver can also issue a report card that provides parents with feedback on how their new driver is doing behind the wheel.

Rear seat reminder- Rear seat reminder alerts you to look in your rear seat before exiting your vehicle under certain conditions.  It activates when a second row door is opened while the vehicle is turned on or up to 10 minutes before the vehicle is turned on. Then when the vehicle is turned off, the feature triggers the reminder to check your rear seat via five audible chimes accompanied by a message in the Driver Information Center that reads, ‘Rear seat reminder, look in rear seat.”
